Exploring the tunnel works under the Thames

This augmented reality app is a STEM resource for secondary students to discover the engineering works Tideway are undertaking underground across London. A functioning tunnel boring machine is brought to life through augmented reality for the user to explore in 3D while learning about engineering and careers in STEM. I led this project, working within Tideway's existing brand aesthetic to create an engaging and on-brand resource reflecting Tideway's commitment to inspiring the engineers of tomorrow.
Agency: Zinc Communicate
Role: Lead designer
Within the app, by pointing your phone camera at the poster, the machine comes to life on screen and the user can isolate parts to take a closer look.
The engineering information is handled using simple line drawn diagrams, alongside photos of the parts and video footage where available. The info is viewable by touching the 'i' points on various parts of the machine.
The app is available on the Apple App Store and on Google Play
