Merry Christmas in May!
The Christmas Party Show takes place annually in central London, - a themed event showcasing London’s top event suppliers. This year’s show was held at Plaisterers' Hall, and inspired by a traditional British festive season, from stockings hung on Christmas Eve, through to seeing the new year in on New Year's Day.

The illustration
Each year I create a main illustration that feeds the event identity and takes the cover of the show guide at the event. For this year's event I illustrated a collection of items to be found during the festive season, alongside activities and items to be found specifically at the event, including Elemis gifts and an ice-sculpting workshop.
The invitations
VIP invitations were designed as a personalised story, adapting the classic 'The Night before Christmas'. I created an illustrated card design, weaving through the elements the poem describes.
The text was set to allow each invitation to be personalised by the event team ahead of printing via mail merge, with the name of each guest added into the story.
The illustrated invitations were commended at the EN Indy awards 2019, where the London Christmas Party Show won Best Trade Show.
At the show
Alongside the printed items I worked on location at the event, hand-lettering chalk boards and painting the glass entranceway and mirrors to continue the theme throughout the event venue. I hand-painted all the various items from the event identity along with lots of snow! The whole entrance is glass-fronted so it was exciting to look at walking by, let visitors know they were in the right place and welcomed guests into the Christmas theme.
